2846. ----- [RUHRCHEMIE, A. G.]  [Alkalinity of the Catalyst as a Regulator of the Consumption Ratio of Carbon Monoxide to Hydrogen.]  German Patent Appl.----, R 537. no date. FIAT Reel K-20.  frames 268-273. Sept. 11, 1940; PB 70,211.

Dependent on the alkalinity of the catalyst ready for use, a definite consumption ratio CO: H2 can be obtained.  An increased alkali content raises the consumption of CO, whereas a decreased alkalinity raises the proportion of H2.  The alkali content of the catalysts is adjusted to 2-6% in the form of hydroxides or carbonates.
