            Alcohols are obtained from hydrocarbons containing olefinic double bonds by conducting the hydrocarbons over a catalyst under a pressure up to 100 atm., at a temperature of 200° in the presence of gases containing CO and H2.  Addition to German Patent Appl. R 103,362 (abs. 2800).
