2759. ------. [REICHL, E. H.] (Stanolind Oil & Gas Co.). Process for the Manufacture of Synthesis Gases. United States Patent 2,529,636, Nov. 14, 1950; appl. filed Apr. 25, 1947, Serial No. 743,889; 1 claims (Cl. 48-215). Chem. Abs., vol. 45, 1951, p. 1327.

Method for producing synthesis gas consists of preheating H2O vapor, CO2, and CH4 in the presence of a catalyst, and then conducting the hot gas mixture thus formed to a combustion zone where O2 and more CH4 are added so as to achieve a high enough temperature to cause a substantially complete conversion of CH4 and CO2 to H2 and CO. 6 United States patents cited.
