Method of production is employed that involves passing H2 2 and CO 1 part by vol. over a skeleton alloy catalyst containing Ni together with 5-20% as much Co, at a temperature in the range of 360°-500° F. and under a pressure of from about atmospheric pressure to about 20 atm. pressure, segregating normally liquid hydrocarbons, b. about 400° F., and further purifying them, as by use of NaOH solution and clay.
