Initial mixture including heavy hydrocarbons together with CO and H2 is heated to about 500° in the presence of a hydrogenating catalyst, and the entire heated mixture is subjected to a simultaneous expansion and cooling down to 180°-300° in a sudden manner and then immediately subjected to catalytic hydrogenation at temperatures of 180°-300°. Describes an arrangement of apparatus.
