2149. MARTIN, H. Z., AND MAYER, I. (Standard Oil Development Co.). Hydrocarbon Synthesis. United States Patent 2,610,976, Sept. 16, 1952. Chem. Abs., vol. 47, 1953, p. 848.

Oxidative regeneration of a fluidized Fe catalyst employed in the conversion of CO and H2 to hydrocarbons is facilitated when the catalyst flow is through a series of reaction vessels, with the spent catalyst being withdrawn from the last reaction vessel and returned to the first after regeneration. This process has the advantage of uniform carbonization on the spent catalyst permitting regeneration to be carried out under conditions that are optimum for all of the catalyst.
