2144. MARTIN, F., ROELEN, O., AND FEISST, W. Hydrocarbons From Hydrogenation of a Carbon Oxide. United States Patent 2,127,127, Aug. 16, 1938; appl. filed Mar. 14, 1936. Chem. Abs., vol. 32, 1938, p. 8127.

For the production of hydrocarbons such as gasoline, a mixture of a C oxide and H2 is passed at an elevated temperature in contact with a catalyst prepared by reducing a material such as Co carbonate or Ni nitrate at a temperature of about 200° or higher by use of H2 and cooling in an inert gas and then treating the catalyst with a mixture of hydrocarbons containing low-boiling fractions.
