2137. MARTIN, F., AND JOHSWIG, F. (Ruhrchemie A. G.). [Catalysts for Carbon Monoxide-Hydrogen Reaction Unaffected by Air.] German Patent 720,107, Apr. 24, 1942; appl. R 100,856, filed Nov. 27, 1937 (Cl. 12 o-1.03). Chem. Abs., vol. 37, 1943, p. 2163.

Catalysts for the conversion of CO-H2 mixtures at increased temperatures, such as the Fischer-Tropsch process, show a high initial activity and sensitivity towards O2. To diminish this tendency, this method proposes that after reduction there be a cooling of the catalyst to 30° C., and replacement of the gases or vapors by CO2 or N2.
