Hydrogenation products of CO are used as parent compounds. The oxidation is carried out with molecular O2 and with the aid of accelerators in 2 steps: (1) The temperature is kept at 115°; (2) at 100°. Compounds yielding O2–for example, KMnO4 or similar compounds–are used.
