2071. LOHRISCH, W. (J. Pintsch Kom.-Ges.). [Process for the Production of Synthesis Gas.] German Patent 744,244, July 21, 1944; appl. P 84,975, filed Oct. 7, 1942 (Cl. 26 a-18.01). TOM Reel 67, item 75, frames 1,120-1,121; Meyer Transl. PC-S-II, Fischer-Tropsch, vol. 6, chap. 174, 1949, p. 31.

3 CH4 with 1 CO2 and 2 H2O are passed through a heat exchanger to the converter, which is heated to reaction temperature by combustion of another CH4, and there converted into synthesis gas with proportions of 4 CO:8 H2. The latter passes through the heat exchanger to storage and gives up its heat to the incoming raw gas mixture. The hot gases from the combustion of the CH4, after heating the converter, are used to produce the steam for the process and then are scrubbed for the CO2. The steam and the CO2 thus produced are combined with the raw CH4 to begin another cycle.
