Compounds, liquid or gaseous, are produced catalytically from CO and H2 at 200°-420° and elevated pressure. The catalyst is fused Fe3O4. To the catalyst is added Ti and/or Si or their compounds as activators. The catalyst is treated with H2 at over 300°.
