1993. ------. [LANNING, W. C.] (Phillips Petroleum Co.). Prevention of Solid Deposits in Fischer-Tropsch Plant Lines. United States Patent 2,572,633, Oct. 23, 1951; appl. filed Sept. 10, 1948, Serial No. 48,718; 8 claims, (Cl. 260-449.6). Chem. Abs., vol. 46, 1952, p. 711.

In the hydrogenation of CO to produce hydrocarbons and oxygenated products in the presence of a fluidized catalyst, condensation and accumulation of solid materials in the lines down stream from the synthesis and the catalyst regeneration zones are prevented by injecting into the effluent 10-50 mol. % of a selected hydrocarbon or product fraction b. 200°-400°, which is partially vaporized upon coming in contact with the hot effluent gases. The effluent gas containing the vaporized portion is then cooled enough to condense the latter, and the waxlike material dispersed in the effluent gas is carried down with the condensing material and removed from the system.
