1944. KOTZSCHMAR, A., SCHEUERMANN, A., AND MEISENHEIMER, K. (I. G. Farbenindustrie A. G.). [Process for Producting Solid Hydrocarbons by Reacting Carbon Monoxide With Hydrogen at Ordinary Temperature.] German Patent Appl. I 63,879, Feb. 20, 1939 (Cl. 12 o-1.03). FIAT Reel K 30, frames 7,617-7,619; PB 73,587.

This is an addition to German Patent Appl. I 63,778 (abs. 1490). The method of reacting CO with H2 in the presence of Co catalysts is further developed. The process works in the presence of catalysts that contain Co and possibly Fe and/or Ni at a pressure well above 2 atm. The catalysts are produced by very gradual precipitation to reduce Co compounds from Co salt solutions while maintaining a precipitation time of > 3 hr.
