In gasifying pulverized coal in the fluidized state in the presence of O₂, the blast pipes for the fuel-O₂ mixture, extending through the walls of the gasifier, and the final mixing chamber are cooled with a cooling liquid flowing in a cooling jacket. By such means and exothermic reaction between O₂ and C outside the gas producer is prevented. Addition to German Patent Appl. K 162,062 (abs.1925).
