Diesel fuels are prepared from coal tar oils by mixing with a paraffinic oil b. 180°-380°, particularly synthetic Fischer-Tropsch benzine fractions; treating the mixture with H2SO4 of approximately 20% concentrated; separating the upper layer of refined oil from an intermediate acid layer and a bottom sediment layer; and washing, drying, and bleaching the refined oil.
