Fluidized metallic catalyst comprising Co supported on a bentonite type of support is employed in an improved method for reacting H2 and a C oxide to produce normally liquid hydrocarbons.  Freshly reduced catalyst is maintained in contact with the gaseous mixture at 390°-450° F.  A Y-shaped reactor is used.
