1712. ------. [INTERNATIONAL HYDROCARBON SYNTHESIS CO.] [Synthesis of Hydrocarbons From Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen.] French Patent 871,909, May 22, 1942, appl. filed May 5, 1941. Oel u. Kohle, vol. 39, 1943, Sch. 192.

Paraffin is chiefly obtained whenever the synthesis is performed under pressures of 5-50 atm. and on a catalyst of Co activated with 5-25% of Mn. The catalyst should contain at least 200-300 gm. of Co per 1. of catalyst mass. At 165° -180° about 120 gm. of hydrocarbons are obtained per m.3 of pure gas, of which about 80% is solid paraffin.
