1703.         1703. ------.  [INTERNATIONAL HYDROCARBON SYNTHESIS CO.] [Regeneration of Metallic Catalysts Used in Preparing Hydrocarbons From the Hydrogen and Carbon Monoxide.] French Patent 861,745. Feb. 15, 1941: appl. filed Nov. 18, 1939.  Chem. Abs., vol. 42, 1948. p. 6091.

Metals, such as Mn, U, Ce, Mg, Ni, and Fe, deposited in kieselguhr, are regenerated after use in the catalytic preparation of hydrocarbons by heating in a stream of H2 at 350°-450°: the speed of the gas is 500-1,000 m.3 per hr. for each m.3 of the passage and the gas having less than 2.5 gm. Of CO and 1 gm. H2O per m.3  The temperature may be attained gradually.  The used catalyst may, before this treatment, be treated with O2 or an O2-yielding gas.
