Pressure is kept <50 atm., temperature at 180°; the Co catalyzer contains 18% Th oxide, with a gas having CO: H2=1 : 2. If after 28 days the activity is much reduced, the catalyzer is regenerated by using a gas having CO : H2=1 :4. Activity is restored in 2 days.
