1654.  ------.  [INTERNATIONAL HYDROCARBON SYNTHESIS CO.]  [Catalytic Hydrogenation of Carbon Monoxide.]  French Patent 863,473.  Apr. 2. 1941. Chem. Abs., vol. 42. 1948. p. 9124.

In preparing the Fe and Ni catalysts, reducible compounds of these metals are slowly precipitated at a temperature <40º, the pH of the solution being kept at 8.  The suspended precipitant is then boiled for a few minutes, filtered and washed, and dried and reduced.  Activators such as Al2O3 or Ag may be added.
