Co and H2 are circulated at 150°-350° over a catalyst of Fe, Ni, Co, and Th on silica gel or the like, the reaction being carried out in stages and liquid products being removed at each stage.  The speed of circulation per M.3 of catalyst per hr. is 400 m.3, whereas formerly a speed of 110 m.3 was used.
