1650.  ------.  [INTERNATIONAL HYDROCARBON SYNTHESIS CO.]  [Catalytic Conversion of Hydrogen With Carbon Monoxide to Polybranched Hydrocarbons.]  French Patent 53,200, Sept. 20, 1945; Appl. filed Nov. 11, 1943; in Germany, Nov. 20, 1941.  Chem. Zentralb., 1948, II, p. 549.

Process for producing Fe catalysts by calcining of compact Fe or Fe oxide, while retaining the outer form followed by reduction, is improved by changing the form by grinding, not compact Fe, but powdery materials such as used catalysts.  The oxidative calcining is carried out in an atmosphere that contains 30-70% steam.  The catalyst gives a very high conversion of 80-82% CO to gasoline.  Addition to French Patent 862,870 (abs. 1653).
