1643.  ------.  [INTERNATIONAL HYDROCARBON SYNTHESIS CO.]  [Catalyst for Converting Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen Into Hydrocarbons.]  Netherlands Patent 53,611, Dec. 15. 1942.  Chem. Abs., vol. 41, 1947, p. 3604.

Compact sheet Fe, 1.5mm., Raschig rings are converted into Fe oxide by air at 700º in 24 hr.  The Fe oxide by air at 700º in 24 hr.  The Fe oxide is reduced to Fe by H2 at 600º and treated with a borax solution, 1% borax in prepared catalysts.  A gas mixture of CO: H2=4:5 is passed over this catalyst at 320º at 20 atm., converting 80% of the gas into hydrocarbons with boiling point of gasoline.
