      1637.  ------.  [INTERNATIONAL HYDROCARBON SYNTHESIS CO.]  [Carbon Monoxide-Hydrogen Synthesis.]  French Patent 860,383. Jan. 13. 1941: appl. filed Sept. 25, 1939: in Germany. Oct. 8. 1938.  Oel u. Kohle, vol. 39. 1943. Sch. 6.

Products obtained by the hydrogenation of CO on Fe catalysts and boiling in the gasoline range can be freed from troublesome, acid-containing compounds by passing them in the vapor state at temperatures 200º-600º, preferably 300º-500º, over water-spilling catalysts such as alumina, bauxite, Al phosphate, magnesia, ZnO.  Sometimes it is expediant to add a dehydrogenating catalyst, such as CrO, to water-splitting catalyst.
