            Method of transforming CO by means of H2 into hydrocarbons containing more than 1 C atom and/or into liquid oxygenated derivatives of hydrocarbons, such as alcohols, ketones, aldehydes, or acids, consists in using as catalysts heavy metals, preferably Fe, to which an alkaline compound has been added.
