      1522.  ------.  [I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE, A. G.]  [Purifying Oxygenated Organic Compounds.]  French Patent 614,127, Dec. 7. 1926; appl. filed Apr. 7, 1926.  Chem. Zentralb., 1928. I p. 617.

Oxygenated compounds obtained by the catalysis of CO and H2 are catalytically hydrogenated in the vapor state after they have been treated with purifying agents.  By means of hydrogenation the substances, such as aldehydes and ketones, that are discolored or have an unpleasant odor are converted into colorless and nonodorous oils.
