IV d-12 o).  FIAT Reel 168. frames 6,707-6,712: PB 68,381: TOM Reel 36. item 21. bag 3,454. 6 pp.: Meyer Transl. PC-S-V. Oxo. vol. 1, chap. 16. 1948. p. 40.

Describes method for the recovery and utilization of dissolved Co metal in the liquid mixture of oxygenated compounds, obtained by the action of CO and H2 on olefins.  The liquid is allowed to trickle over pumice or other filling material under 25 atm. pressure and 100º in the presence of H2.  A part of the Co becomes deposited on the filler, which then is treated with CO at 200 atm. and then at 150º with the CO-H2-olefin mixture used for making the oxygenated compounds.  The Co goes into solution as the carbonyl, leaves the converter in the outgoing liquid, and can be used again as catalyst in the conversion of CO with H2.
