            Diesel fuel is made by blending oil deficient in H, such as obtained by mild hydrogenation of coal, with hydrocarbons b. > about 200º C. obtained by cracking the product of the hydrogenation of CO.  This cracked oil, preferably from catalytic cracking, is stated to be relatively rich in H and yet will not allow separation of asphaltic matter from the blended fuel.
