            Product of the conversion is cooled on emerging from the converter by being brought into indirect heat exchange with a cooler gas such as fresh synthesis gas.  After the condensate is removed, the remaining gaseous and vaporous product is further cooled by indirect heat exchange with the cool liquid product obtained by the conversion of CO with H2.
