            In separating high-molecular alcohols from mixtures with hydrocarbons in accordance with the main patent, the mixture is dissolved in a liquid solvent, such as petroleum ether and the solution then allowed to flow over a substance such as silica gel, which adsorbs the alcohols that are recovered by means of steam, preferably superheated, or hot gases.  Addition to German Appl.
