In preparing the metal soaps of the fatty acids of paraffin oxidation, difficulty is often found in obtaining a product that is dry and suitable for grinding. The defect can be remedied by carrying out the reaction of these fatty acids with metal compounds in the presence of montanic acid or similar high molecular weight acids of natural orgin.
