Polymerization products of high molecular weight are obtained from volatile gaseous or liquid olefins by converting first the initial products into liquids whose boiling point is not >300º using moderately active polymerizing catalysts and continuing the polymerization of these products by means of highly active catalysts. In the first phase of polymerization H2SO4, H3PO4, decolorizing earth, or AlF3 are used as catalysts, and in the second phase AlCl3, AlBr3, FeCl3, BF3, ZnCl2, or SnSl4. |
