            These are obtained by causing mixtures of SO2 and Cl to act in liquid phase on halo hydrocarbons containing in the molecule at least 1 C atom to which is attached 1 H atom but no halogen atom. in presence of short-wave irradiations.  As initial materials are used 1- or 2-chloropropane, 1- or 2-chlorobutane and its isomers, 1.2-dichlorobutane, dichlorododecane, bromoctadecane, cyclohexyl chloride, and other cyclic halo hydrocarbons: also hydrocarbons from CO hydrogenation.
