      1262.  ------.  [I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE A. G.]  Hydrocarbons.  British Patent 464,308, Apr. 15, 1937.  Chem. Abs., vol. 31, 1937. p. 7243.

In the conversion of CO and H2 into hydrocarbons n presence of a rigidly arranged catalyst, a liquid is caused to trickle over the catalyst while the formation of a body of liquid is avoided in the reaction space.  The liquid is preferably a solvent for the reaction products, for example, alcohols, middle oils, heavy oils, paraffin oils, anthracene oils.  The reaction products themselves may be used if liquid under the working conditions.
