      1206.  ------.  [I. G. FARBENINDUSTRIE A. G.]  [Conversion of Carbon Monoxide With Hydrogen.]  German Patent Appl. I 75,440, OZ 14,294, filed July 10, 1943 (Cl. IV d-12 o).  FIAT Reel 170, frames 9,735-9,737; PB 64,335; TOM Reel 26, item 11, frames 578-580.

In the conversion of CO and H2, the catalyst described in German Patent Appl. I 68,608 (abs. 3261), containing Fe, Cu, an alkali compound, and MgO on kieselguhr, the MgO is replaced with a F compound such as CaF2 and, if desired, one or more difficultly reducible metallic oxides.  With this catalyst and at the same temperatures as before, CO conversion and yields are increased, the products within the gasoline boiling range increasing at the expense of the higher boiling compounds.
