      1119.  ------.  [HÜTTNER, R., AND WIETZEL, G.]  (I. G. Farbenindustrie A. G.).  [Mixtures of Hydrogen and Carbon Monoxide.]  German Patent 552,446, Jan. 18, 1931.  Chem. Abs., vol. 26, 1932, p. 4422.

Saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbons other than CH4 are treated with steam.  CO2, air and/or O2 at a raised temperature in the presence of catalysts prepared by mixing compounds of metals of the Fe group with a hydraulic binder, for example, commercial cement, pasting the mixture with H2O and allowing it to set.  The catalysts so prepared hinder the formation of C.  The compounds of metals of the Fe group are preferably used in association with activators, for example, oxides of Al, Mg, Ca, U, Cr, Mo, and V.  Gives various details and examples.  See also German Patent 538,012 (abs. 116).
