1110.  HUFF, L. C.  (Universal Oil Products Co.).  Reactor for Close Temperature Control.  United States Patent 2,475,025, July 5, 1949; appl. filed Oct. 26, 1946, Serial No. 705,835; 3 claims (Cl. 260-449.6.) Chem. Abs., vol. 43,1949, p. 7760.

Describes converter in which temperature control is provided by means of 2 different flow paths for cooling, or heating, heat-exchange medium.  One heat-exchange medium flows internally within the path of each of the reactant fluid streams, whereas the other circulates externally around each of the tubular contacting zones.  2 different heat-exchange fluid mediums may be used within the converter, or it is possible to use the same medium in the inner and outer zones.  The apparatus is adaptable for liquid to liquid or liquid to vapor heat exchange as well as for fluidized catalytic processes.  7 United States patents cited.
