                        In the use of catalytic converters, according to British Patent 449,050 (abs. 1097), for a cycle of alternate endothermic and exothermic reactions, the fluids in each period of the cycle are admitted at such temperatures that the portion of the converter that is common to the reaction and manifolding zones is maintained at constant temperature.  The invention is applicable to the heat treatment of hydrocarbons with subsequent regeneration of the catalyst with an oxidizing gas.
