The method of German Patent 512,718 (abs. 1088), for producing oxygenated organic compounds, that is, by the action of CO on aliphatic hydrocarbons under pressure in the presence of AlCl3, is extended to hydroaromatic hydrocarbons such as hexahydrotoluene, solvent naphtha, and cyclohexane.
