Separating Normal Raraffins From Isoparaffins by a Solid Adsorption Process. United States Patent 2,620,363, Dec. 2, 1952. Chem. Abs., vol. 47, 1953, p. 2473. Isoparaffins may be separated from normal paraffins by the following adsorption process, which avoids complete regeneration of the adsorbent. n-Pentane is adsorbed from a mixture of n-pentane and isopentane; the n-pentane is desorbed by treating with isohexane obtained from a separate adsorption system; the isohexane- n-pentane mixture is separated by normal distillation. The same scheme is used for recovering adsorbed n-hexane by deadsorbing it with isopentane and then separating it by distillation. |
