           Catalysts for the preparation of MeOH from CO and H₂ are either (1) Sr and PbO ground together, preferably in the proportion of 3 Sr : PbO or (2) Zn and Bi₂O₃, preferably in the proportion of 3 Zn : Bi₂O₃.
