            Unstable S compounds are removed form Oxo-process alcohols of the C4-C20 range by superatmosphere molecular-O2 oxidation in the presence of aqueous caustic; then the treated alcohols are distilled.  Special Conditions disclosed are the use of air of O2 pressures of as high as 300 p. s. i. g. and temperatures 100º-250º.
