      881.  ------.  [GRIFFIN, L. I., JR.]  (Standard Oil Development Co.).  [Catalytic Production of Hydrocarbons From Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen.]  French Patent 954,643: appl. Filed Oct. 24, 1947. issued Dec. 28, 1949. in United States Nov. 9, 1946.  Chem. Zentralb., 1950. II, p. 488.

Hydrocarbons are synthesized from CO and H2 with simultaneous introduction of steam.  Fe, Ni, or Co in suspended fluidized form is used as the catalyst.  Fe being preferred.  A part of the catalyst is removed from the reaction zone during the synthesis, regenerated, and returned to the process to avoid as far as possible the deposition of C on the catalyst.  The operating temperature lies 260°-399° and at a pressure of 52.5 atm.
