Catalyst contaminated in the reaction of CO and H2 is reactivated by destructive hydrogenation of the contaminants and treatment with a wash solvent.  The temperature for the hydrogenation is 450°-750° F. and the pressure up to 750 p. s. i.  The synthesis catalyst also promotes the hydrogenation.  9 United States patents cited.
