Patent Abstracts

Primary normal alcohols are the principal product from olefins, CO, and H at 275º-375º pressures >300 atm., and in the presence of a Cu-Cr-Co catalyst. A 16 : 8 : 1 mixture of H₂-CO-propylene passed over a 1 : 0.1 : 0.05 Cu-Cr-Co catalyst at 288º and 1,000 atm. gave liquid products containing 88% BuOH, and 12% isoBuOH.
