In the purification of crude anhydrous alcohols separated from the mixture of alcohols obtained by the catalytic hydrogenation of C oxides, and alcohol of lower boiling point, such as MeOH, is added to the crude alcohol, and the resulting mixture is subjected to fractional distillation.
