      767.  ------.  [GARBO, P. W.]  (Hydrocarbon Research, Inc.).  Process and Apparatus for the Synthesis of Hydrocarbons.  United States Patent 2,539,415. Jan. 30, 1951: appl. filed Mar. 14, 1947.  Serial No. 734,666; 9 claims (Cl. 260-449.6).

Fluid catalyst is held in dense phase by recycling gaseous reaction products upward through the contact mass while fresh feed reactants are introduced, preferably above the point of introduction of the recycled stream, through perforated or porous tubes, which extend vertically in the reaction zone.  Any required number of inlet conduits may be used.  The introduction of the reactant gases and their mixing with the recycle gas flow are instaneous and uniform throughout the fluidized catalyst mass.  Fe, Ni, Co, and Ru, with or without support, may be used.  6 United States patents cited.
