CO2 is absorbed by slightly moistened (10-20% moisture) solid Ca(OH)2.  The absorbent 0.5-1 cm. in size, is packed in a tower through which the gases are passed.  To purify 1,000 m.3 per hr. of a gas containing 3% CO2, a capacity of 20 m.3 is required, as compared with 45 m.3 required by the ordinary method.
