      701.  ------.  [FISCHER, F., AND TROPSCH, H.]  [Hydrocarbons.]  German Patent 567,069, De. 27, 1932; appl. F 62,091, filed Sept. 15, 1926 (Cl. 12 o-1).  FIAT Reel AA-88, frames 4,001-4,002; PB 70,273; Chem. Abs., vol. 27, 1933, p. 1499.

Hydrocarbons are treated in known manner with steam and/or CO2, to produce a gas mixture of the water-gas type, and this mixture is led over a catalyst at atmospheric pressure to produce other hydrocarbons.  Gives an example in which natural CH4 is led with CO2 over spongy Fe at 950º, and the resulting gas is led at 270º and atmospheric pressure over a mixture of Co and ZnO, giving liquid hydrocarbons of the benzine type.  The residual gases are returned to the process.
