      690. ------.  [FISCHER, F., AND PICHLER, H.]   (Hydrocarbon Synthesis Corp.).  Synthesis of Paraffin From Carbon Monoxide and Hydrogen.  United States Patent 2,243,897, June 8, 1941; appl. filed July 23, 1938.  Serial No. 220,918, in Germany July 30, 1937; 4 claims (Cl. 260-449).  Chem. Abs., vol. 35, 1941, p. 5508.

Process of producing solid paraffin from a mixture of CO and H2 in the presence of a Co catalyst and under superatmospheric pressure (p’) involves maintaining the gas mixture in the reaction zone for about a period of time (t’) as determined by the equation t’: t=p’:p, in which t= the time required to obtain maximum output when operating under a pressure of 1 atm. (p). and p’ is the pressure in atmospheres under which the reaction is carried out.
